If I’m honest, the hot weather we’ve had over the last few days in the UK has totally thrown me. I know that it’s meant to be nice and sunny during the summer months, but I’ve gotten so used to it raining or being cold over the last few weeks that I was actually shocked when I saw the sun was shining outside. We’ve had quite humid weather over the last two days, which has made it feel even hotter than it actually is outside. This humid heat always leaves me craving cooling foods and drinks – so I usually end up eating lots of vegan ice cream, and drinking plenty of cooling juices and smoothies. Ideally, I would be enjoying these at the beach or while relaxing at a spa day at Champneys – but no matter where I am, these treats leave me feeling full of joy whenever I’m out in the sunshine.
So, in order to help celebrate this sunshine, I thought I would create a round up of my 5 favourite summer smoothie recipes to enjoy in the beautiful weather!
1. berry & watermelon smoothie
I love this smoothie as the watermelon makes it so refreshing. I combined it with a mixture of different berries, which give it the perfect fruity flavour. I love blending a handful of ice cubes with this to make it even more refreshing and cooling.

2. super green smoothie
This is my go to smoothie for whenever I feel like I need a bit of a detox – I love to drink this for breakfast, as it gives me the perfect, healthy boost for getting my day started.

3. creamy banana milkshake smoothie
The combination of banana, coconut milk and vanilla in this drink creates a perfectly creamy, tropical blend of tasty ingredients that satisfies both my palette and body. I just love drinking this in the summer sun!
4. cherry, banana & nectarine smoothie
For this smoothie, I combined three of my favourite fruits for a really delicious, perfectly sweet blend of deliciousness. I absolutely adore cherries, so this is a smoothie I make all of the time! It’s perfect for drinking at any occasion.
5. pineapple, spinach & mint smoothie
I really love the combination of pineapple and mint in this smoothie, as they just balance each other perfectly. I also added some spinach and spirulina to this recipe for an extra green health kick.
