mango frozen yogurt
Usually, when the weather starts to get colder, all I want to do is eat lots of comforting and warm foods. However, recently I haven’t been able to stop thinking about ice cream.. I really don’t know why, but it’s just been on my mind all day, every day.
However, it’s not just ice cream I’ve been craving, it’s frozen yogurt to be specific. I’m not sure whether it’s that I’ve just been feeling nostalgic lately, as I keep on dreaming of hot summer holidays, when I tend to eat a lot of frozen yogurt.
On holiday, I normally go all out and splurge on all of the toppings and flavours possible. Somehow, I just manage to get lured in by all of the delicious options calling my name – and seeing tubs filled with candy right in front of me is just far too tempting. So, when I’m away, I’m more than happy to go a bit crazy and treat myself.
Yet, when I’m at home – I do try to be a bit more sensible. I love eating healthily as much as I can, and then I just enjoy treats when I feel like having them. On holiday, frozen yogurt is definitely one of those special treat options – as I like to make mine as indulgent as possible. However, seeing as I’m at home and trying to be good to myself, I thought I’d try and make my own version so that I can enjoy this treat in a healthier way.
This creation of mine is really all thanks to Coyo’s mango yogurt. Their delicious coconut yogurt comes with a layer of naturally sweet mango puree, perfect for my healthier home made treat. The recipe is really simple, and it just combines the yogurt with some chopped frozen mango and a few drops of stevia!
All you have to do to make this, is add the ingredients into a food processor, blend until smooth and then leave in the freezer for up to 2 hours. So simple! It tastes really creamy and decadent, however it’s completely natural and sweetened with just fruit and stevia. So, to me, this is definitely a healthy treat. It’s certainly satisfied my ice cream craving, and I can already see myself enjoying this repeatedly – no matter the season or the weather.
I hope you enjoy the recipe!
mango frozen yogurt
serves 1-2
ingredients
1 cup (150g) frozen chopped mango
5 drops liquid stevia, or to taste
method
- Firstly, add the mango, yogurt and stevia into your food processor and blend until smooth. Then, when the mixture is smooth, pour it into a bowl and move it into the freezer.
- Leave the mixture to freeze for about one hour, then check it and stir it together. Then, move it back into the freezer, and leave for a further 30 minutes-1 hour until firm and scoop-able. When the frozen yogurt is ready, scoop it into a bowl and serve!
Haha – looks like we both had mango and coconut on the brain! 🙂
Though seriously, Emily – I’ve been the same way – the temps dropped and I went out and bout some Moose Tracks fro yo! This mango coconut one looks so good – love the added in chunks of mango!!!
I have missed your sweet treats, and that creamy bowl of pale yellow goodness drew me in immediately! I was reading along, totally agreeing with you about missing chilly treats and going topping crazy occasionally and then I got to the recipe and was shocked by how easy it is!!! Wow! Mango is my favorite flavor of everything, so I gotta try this <3

Love this — looks delicious. I’ve been adding yogurt to a lot of my smoothies lately {we don’t have Coyo here, or at least I’ve never come across it, but I love a local brand called Yoso made with cashews and almonds} — makes things so creamy and delicious while keeping it light. And mango is always good in everything 🙂
It’s still so hot in Southern California so this mango frozen yogurt sounds so dreamy right now! I’m loving the fact that this can be whipped up in a food processor, and of course the fact that its mango. I love mango! Another satisfying yet healthy treat, Harriet…fabulous!
This seems sooo tasty and yummy <3
