I’ve been working with Graham & Brown for a few months now, and I recently received a beautiful roll of their Honolulu Palm Green Wallpaper to use. I chose this roll of their wallpaper, as I was really inspired by it’s design and colours. I love being out in nature, and am always fascinated by all of the different trees and wildlife. Palm Trees have been one of my favourite trees for as long as I can remember, and I’ve always admired the beauty of their leaves. So, as soon as I saw this wallpaper, I knew I had to have a roll of it at home.

The creativity of their wallpapers often inspires my artwork, and even inspired the Hare illustrations that I’ve shared with you before. As they feature so many wallpapers with vibrant prints and patterns, I can’t help but feel inspired whenever I look at their products. The Honolulu wallpaper really caught my eye due to the delicate detailing on each leaf, and tropical green tones. Drawn in such a realistic way, the paper itself manages to bring its own element of nature indoors to your home.

Looking at the wallpaper reminded me of the pure beauty and perfection of nature, and how important it is that we spend more time in it. It also reminded me of all of the intricate patterns and details within nature that can be missed so easily due to our busy minds. So, because of this, I decided to go out into the woods and bring the nature of this wallpaper into life, by capturing some of my natural surroundings.

I love walking in the woods, as it’s so still and peaceful. Often, the only sound you can hear is a leaf falling from a tree, or the call of a bird. There’s nothing quite like it, and it’s the perfect way to disconnect from the busyness of today’s world.

I then paired some of the images with the wallpaper and made them into a collage, to blend the photographs and artwork together:

Going for long walks outdoors is one of my favourite ways to unwind. What’s your favourite thing to do to relax?

  1. I completely agree with you regarding long walks and especially woodlands, they are my favourite place to go with my dog. Being in nature, especially somewhere quiet and secluded, can help to wipe away the stresses of a busy day or a demanding job. Lovely photographs and I adore that wallpaper! It’s definitely something I’d have in my house.
    Nice post.

  2. Love the wallpaper! It’s beautiful and I’m also partial to Honolulu since I was born there;-) Your photos look so quite and peaceful, Harriet! A wonderful place to get away from the noise of the city. I’m sure the stream was nice too. I love the sound of trickling water…it’s so calming:-)

  3. That wall paper is gorgeous! I love the detail! We are in the process of brainstorming ideas for our remodel of downstairs and I am thinking I want wallpaper on one wall, I will definitely have to check out Graham & Brown products! As for relaxing, I hear you on nature and the woods being peaceful. My back yard backs up to the woods, so sitting on our deck is one of the most relaxing places for me. Its peaceful, and the best is when I catch site of deer, bunnies or foxes. 🙂 Thanks for sharing another great resource to check out! LOVE IT! Cheers, girlfriend! <3
