Almost a week ago now, I got back from Goa, India. My time there was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable times I’ve ever experienced. The hot, sunny weather, peaceful atmosphere and lovely, kind people make Goa a total place of paradise.
When we arrived in India, we headed straight to our hotel, The Alila Diwa Goa. The hotel was stunning, immaculate, and everyone was so welcoming. Upon arrival, we were handed a traditional Kokum drink before looking around the beautiful grounds, breathtaking pools and our picturesque suite.
The hotel was absolutely perfect, and I couldn’t find a single fault about my time there. The staff were so lovely, the hotel was immaculately clean, and the food was absolutely delicious. Most nights, we ate at their Vivo restaurant where there were many amazing curry dishes and lots of vegetarian options. In fact, I had curry for almost every meal of the day while I was there!
Each morning, we began our day with a yoga class in their spa (which had the most incredible view looking out onto the paddy fields) before either heading to the beach or visiting some of the local sights.
The beach we visited was Majorda beach, just a short walk away from the hotel. There were in-hotel taxis that would take you there and back, but we chose to walk there instead as we loved to visit the local cows (and feed them bananas) on the way down!
On the beach, there were lots of delicious restaurants – but we ate in Sam’s Goan Shack most frequently, as the food there was amazing and incredibly good value. We also stayed on the beds outside of his restaurant, looking out at the calming blue ocean as we enjoyed the sunshine.
One day I even managed to do a bit of stretching on a quiet early morning stroll…
Overall, we ended up spending most of our days on this beach as we loved it so much, but we did also enjoy exploring some of the local places like Panjim and Sushsagar Falls.. but I’ll be sharing more information about them in my next post!
In the meantime, I’ll leave you with a stunning view of one of Goa’s many beautiful evenings..
