A few weeks ago, Qi Wellness invited me to try one of their Qi Energy treatments at their centre just off of Oxford Circus, in the busy heart of central London. The location itself is perfect for when you need to step away from the hectic course of day to day city life, and simply unwind from it all.

As I stepped into the centre, after hurriedly travelling the city’s chaotic streets, I found myself surprisingly calm. Upon entering, my mind was simply void of any thoughts, and any panic I had seemed to just melt away. It was incredible to notice the change of atmosphere between the streets outside, and the space within their building. I honestly couldn’t tell that I was in a city anymore. Qi Wellness was so still, peaceful and gave you a welcoming sense of being at home.

Sitting down prior to my treatment, I was handed a form to fill out, briefly describing myself and any physical or mental ailments I might have. Then, I was shown around the beautiful centre.

Asides from Qi Energy Treatments, Qi Wellness also offer Healing Treatments, Chanting Classes, and even Online Classes that you can take at home. The centre has two meditation rooms for classes, as well as their private rooms for treatments. The centre uses an ancient healing system from South Korea, and it was founded to encourage our self development, as well as healing the mind, body and spirit. Each practitioner undergoes intense training before working at the centre.

After walking around, I proceeded into my treatment room, where I met Emilie, one of the Qi Wellness practitioners. Together, we went through the form I filled out, and discussed how I was feeling at that time. Then, she told me about Qi Energy and the process of the treatment.

Our ‘Qi’, also known as our energy, is something that can easily become unbalanced in todays world, and energy is something we are often short of! Each of us are born with our own unique store of Qi/energy, that creates our own balance. This storage is what helps us to circulate the energy throughout the cells and organs of our body.

When there is an imbalance in our body, the Qi Treatment helps to restore the balance within us by using a technique that each of their practitioners is trained in. The treatment itself involves a combination of breathing techniques and acupressure, performed by the practitioner. The vibration of the breathing used, transmits Qi energy deeply into the body, and the use of acupressure helps to reduce any tension in our energy system, as well as opening any knots or blockages in the body.

As the treatment took place, I felt the blocks and tension I was holding within my body dissolve, and noticed the strong tightness that I had in my lower back, completely go away. Although some of the acupressure points felt tense, I could feel the pressure releasing throughout the treatment. The treatment was calming, rejuvenating and very mind opening. As soon as it was finished, my body felt lighter, my mind was clearer, and my face was glowing. The dark circles I had beneath my eyes had reduced, and my energy felt renewed.

Before the treatment, I was suffering with tiredness, stress and anxiety. My time at the centre really helped me to calm my mind, and feel a lot more positive and clear. My energy felt stable and balanced, and my body felt grounded. I had such a wonderful experience at the Qi Wellness centre, and I can still feel the changes within my body, weeks since my treatment. I am so grateful that I was able to visit there, and I know I will be returning very soon!

  1. This looks like such a beautiful centre (and something London deffinately needs as a busy city!)….Im glad the treatment wored to make you feel more relaxed. Im certainly going to look into ‘QI’!

  2. That sounds like an awesome experience that anyone could benefit from! (I can’t think of anyone who isn’t stressed out, hehe.) That’s great that you’re still feeling the benefits from it even weeks later! :]
