Avocado toast is one of the biggest food trends to have swept the planet, and it’s not one I’ll be getting bored of any time soon. I can easily eat avocado toast on a daily basis – for breakfast, lunch or sometimes even dinner. The creaminess of the avocado makes it the perfect topping for toast, and it’s clear to see just why so many of us love this dream combination.
As always, I love to come up with different ways to serve foods – and I’m always experimenting with different flavours for my avocado toast. This time, I decided to create a cheesy avocado toast – featuring some of Violife’s grated vegan cheese.
The cheese adds a really lovely, smooth texture and extra amount of decadence to the toast. It makes this recipe perfect for brunch or a lunchtime snack. I also added some paprika, chilli, salt and pepper for a hint of spice and extra flavour.
It’s such a simple, delicious recipe to make.

cheesy avocado toast
1 slice bread – I use rye
pinch paprika (smoked or unsmoked)
pinch chilli powder
salt + pepper, to taste
USE OVEN GRILL SETTING
- Add the toast into the toaster for a couple of minutes or so, to toast to your desired amount.
- Peel the avocado and remove the pit. Add the flesh into a bowl, and mash it using a fork. Set it aside.
- When the toast is ready, remove it from the oven. Scoop the avocado on top of toast, and top with a handful of the Violife cheese. Then sprinkle the paprika, chilli, salt and pepper on top.
- Place the toast back into the oven for a minute or so, until the cheese has melted. Then, remove it from the oven and serve.
